A sunset ATV tour from Göreme

Two hours on a quad bike behind a guide, with stops in Güllüdere (Rose) Valley, Red Valley, Çavuşin and Love Valley, finishing at a sunset viewpoint. It doesn't go to Uchisar Castle; pick it for the cheapest bit of adrenaline in Cappadocia, at $30 for one ATV shared by two.

Sunset ATV Tour

About this experience

Turn Back Travel picks you up from your hotel in Göreme or Çavuşin, drives you a short way to its ATV base and hands out helmets. After a few minutes of instruction on throttle and brakes, the group rides out in a line behind the guide. The listing names four stops: Güllüdere (Rose) Valley, Red Valley, Çavuşin village and Love Valley, with 15 to 20 minutes at each for photos, and the last one timed for sunset.

It doesn't visit Uchisar Castle. The route stays on the tracks north and east of Göreme. The price is the draw: $30 buys one ATV, and two people can share it, one driving and one behind. If you each want your own bike, book two units. Guests who missed that detail felt misled, so check the count before you pay. A UTV buggy option (1000cc, listed with a driver) sits on the same page at a different price.

Expect dust. Lots of it. Dozens of groups use the same tracks at sunset, and nearly every reviewer says to bring a bandana, mask or sunglasses; the crew sells bandanas on site. Critical reviews mention long stretches on a road shoulder, a "Love Valley" stop that wasn't the famous viewpoint, tired bikes and a few missed pickups. Most guests still had a great evening. Go in expecting a fun, cheap ride in a convoy, not off-road freedom.

What guests say

★★★★★

It was exhilarating riding around in small groups. Just be prepared to share an ATV if you pay for the cheaper 2-person option (2 people for one vehicle). They will sell bandanas to protect from all of the dust, but you can also show up prepared with your own if you prefer.

We got picked up and taken to the ATV spot, we were shown how to use the ATV’s and off we went, we were thankful we didn’t have to wait too long before going. Stunning scenery as we rode along stopping off at 4 locations in the valleys, all which were gorgeous, the views were amazing and we got to watch the sunset.

Good simple tour, with easy to use controls on the bikes. You get ample time at stop points for pictures. Pack a mask or mouth shield so you don't eat some dust!

Fun ride! My first time riding an ATV. It was fun while I learnt to control the bike. Wonderful guide to bear with my learning.

Tips before you book

  • Bring a bandana or buff, sunglasses and clothes you don't mind ruining. The dust gets everywhere.
  • Message the operator through the Viator app the day before to confirm the pickup time and place. Several guests were missed or told late about a time change.
  • Two riders, one bike: if you both want to drive all the way, book two units.
  • Staying in Uçhisar? There's no pickup there: take the bus or a taxi to Göreme, or compare the sunset horse ride and ask about pickup before you book.
  • Keep the Uchisar sunset for another evening. Uchisar Castle is about 4 km from Göreme. Take the town bus (about every 30 minutes) or walk up through Pigeon Valley, about an hour on foot. The castle is open 07:00 to 20:00 and foreign visitors pay a few hundred lira at the kiosk, reported at 320 to 400 TL in 2025-26. The Museum Pass is not valid there.
